This award will go to the Local Authority that has done the most to facilitate self and/or custom building in the UK. Entries for this category can be nominated by councils, developers, organisations or members of the public.
Judges will consider a range of criteria, including what the council is doing, how they have facilitated the growth of self and/or custom build in their catchment, engagement with the Right to Build, and any flagship schemes that are in the pipeline.
Entries should include:
• A detailed description of how the Local Authority is supporting self and custom builders
• Ideally, images showcasing the Local Authority’s work in the sector, such as images of a council-enabled self or custom build scheme
• Any other information as detailed in the entry form and T&Cs
